The owner bought this boat in 1987
General condition and any additional information
This Laguna is one of the last Lagunas built by the original company. While a few Laguna 22-Bs came out when a new owner bought the assets of the Laguna Yacht Company after the company went bankrupt in 1987, very few 22-Bs exist. The Laguna 22 was one of the best built trailerable sloops available at the time.
The boat was carefully maintained by the original owner since 1987. It was stored indoors every winter and only saw freshwater in Geneva Lake in a slip all summer every year except 2018. It is now in storage and can be seen by appointment only. The original cushions are in very good condition as is the rest of the interior.
Bottom paint was last painted professionally in 2017 and only needs a touch up. The pictures were all taken after the boat was pulled out last fall with the exception of the picture in the slip which was taken in 2017. All it needs is to finish the final polish and wax and its ready to launch..
Special Note for a Spring 2021 Sale
The sailboat is currently in locked storage and is available to be seen on a weeks notice. However, the boat cannot be picked up until we get back to WI; approximately by May 10th.
Anyone who purchases this boat at the price listed before 6/15/2021 and takes possession of the boat and all of the available spare parts has two options.
1. We will store the boat in Elkhorn until June of 2021 at our expense so that the new owner can work on the boat if they want to. The price is negotiable.
2. A new owner can take the boat as is on May 10th. The price will be discounted $200 if sold by May 10th.
All parts come with the boat for any sale. The boat cannot be sold without the extras.
This is a fixed keel Laguna with its original Zieman trailer. The boat is a fractional rigged sailboat that came equipped with a galley with a sink and alcohol stove, pop up cabin, and a standard jib and main. The original boat had a 6 HP Suzuki 2-stroke outboard but we have upgraded the outboard in 2003. The boat sleeps 4 using the V-berth, cushion over the cabin table, and a berth on the starboard side. Also included is the standard porta-potti under the V-berth.
Extra gear included
Replacement portlight window parts are included that include new seals but only the new screens have been installed to date. Also included are 5 loop teak hand rails that can replace the original rails on the boat. Additional equipment includes a wooden frame system to assist in stepping the mast, a boom vang, a backstay adjuster, a replacement tiller, an unused 80 foot halyard (5/16) and a stay tension gauge. The original headstay is included in addition to the stay in the furler. Loads of extra blocks and other sailing parts are included. The original manual also comes with the boat.
Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior
The boat now has a 2003 9.8 HP outboard with improved transom support. The outboard was purchased new at the time. The outboard is equipped with an electric start remote on the starboard side of the cockpit. The original radio was upgraded to a Clarion AM/FM/CD with an available remote (not on the boat but will be sold with the boat). Also included is a Standard Horizon Spectrum model VHF.
The boat comes with a 150% genoa made by Melges Sails in Zenda, WI. This sail has very little use. We added a Shaeffer Snap-Furl roller furling system with a custom made sail. The current main is a footless Powermain sail made by UK Sails in Chicago. An virtually unused UK headsail is also included. This headsail was a replacement for the original.
The boat has a recent custom upgrade to dual AGM batteries with a solar powered trickle charger. An unused spare tire is included with the trailer. The trailer also has newer wiring. The Laguna has a replacement mast that was installed around 2006. Some of the exterior teak has been replaced recently.
