Review of the Oday 37 by michael card

Liveaboard? Yes  
Owner bought the boat in 2002  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes  
Gear that's been added bought the boat with new diesel,new plumbing, new electric, new force ten bbq, stove, and heater, new ac front and back cabins, powder coated mast and boom, redone sails, new edsen wheel and ped. new ray marine int., 200watt inverter added new stalock and wire and turnbuckle added new roller furling added new life lines added flat screen tv and stereo added extra ground tackle added auto pilot but it seems to like to be in the shop more than on the boat (raymarine) would like to add refrig, redo anchor locker, swim platform, and self tailing winches  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features good turn of speed pretty enough to approach and be proud of dry comfortable pretty easy engine access paid off (look at new boat prices and what you get)  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. no major problems so far have tried to abuse with no failures  
Sailing characterisitcs been in seas up to 15feet offshore with 35kts surfing at 12kts on the gps mostly 10-20kts will take that wind all day long under 10 usually motor sail as I usually have to get to ports under daylight if possible  
Motoring characterisitcs have new volvo 2030 and runs like a top so far motor sail @ 7kts  
Liveability like the two cabin set up when we do offshore passages close off back and use setties with lee cloth and works great i would call the boat living aboard high class camping  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any dealer took a couple of things off the boat for himself told me it was for the previous owner I should have called his bluff  
Other comments great all around boat for the money
