If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. Best boat I've owned (so far).  
Gear that's been added Added Lazy Jacks and new mainsail cover. Replaced all sail slides on mainsail. Also a new, custom steel storage cradle. O'Days seem to have mainly come with wooden cradles.  
Structural or complex improvements None.  
The boat's best features Boat does well in light and heavy air. It is easy to singlehand, and is relatively fast. It is a good 6kts. boat under 10mph wind speed(although I have seen 8.25 kts. GPS surfing down waves). Easily balanced, a bit of weather helm, but MUCH faster and better-behaved than my Catalina 27 Standard Rig which I sold. Interior is nicer, too. Keel stepped mast is a nice feature, as are removable lifeline stantions. It's a nice-looking boat, with contemporary lines.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing, really, but the engine access door in the cabin is not hinged, and probably should be. No blisters or leaks however!  
Sailing characterisitcs See "Best Features" above.  
Motoring characterisitcs Great motoring capabilities with wheel steering. Backing up is relatively easy, and 11hp Universal Diesel sips fuel.  
Liveability Seems liveable due to wide beam.

Other comments None. Good, solid boat - not a raceboat, but a good pseudo-performance cruiser.
