The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water

Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes
Gear that's been added Gaurer boom vang,Perforated toe rails, corian counter top,new westerbeke 11A1 diesel, new plastic fuel tank, bladder water tank, new marine head, and larger holding tank, standard horizon wind, depth, and CP150 plotter, new gelcoat on hull and deck, new standing and running rigging,16000 BTU reverse cycle marine air,20amp smart charger,1 8D battery for engine and 2 27 series batterys for house, total rewire and new Blue Sea Panels for both ac and dc,shore power,tri-co;or mast head light,Sea Frost refer, lazy jacks, rope clutches, deck organizers for lines
Structural or complex improvements no real inprovments to hull and deck except all new gelcoat Aug.2003 but i do need a new rudder mines is bent a litle, still works and still floats pulled off old vinyl off bulkheads and built up gelcoat over mats footprint then sprayed with gwith dura-tec to give a clean shiney surface that can just be wiped clean
The boat's best features The boat is laid out real well,i've closed off port quater berth and made it a equiptment room for the air conditioner, battery charger ,refer compressor and battery compartment for house batterys,i redesigned the companion way steps into the boat to hold the 8D engine battery under botom step and the top step folds down to allow another cushion to be placed there for another seat.all lines are led aft to cockpit, easy to sail single handed in almost any weather conditions, been knocked down a couple of times and the boat reacts very quickly, easy live aboard been onboard over 6 years with my dog (a rotty) a very dog frindly boat
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. i too have a time with leaks from the ports but finally figured out that it wasn't the frames that were ;eaking but the glass in the frame, thought i might pull out old ports and glass up holes and just install good opening potrs but thats alot of work
Sailing characterisitcs I perfer winds 8 or better and have been in 18 to 20 with gust even higer and always felt good on how trhe boat was tracking and ease of the rudder with a full sail, everything is close and easy to manage by myself
Motoring characterisitcs when i got the boat it had a Westerbeke VIRE7 2 stroke gas inboard that would push the boat at around 5.5 to 6 knots but would not shift that great, took that out put a kickker on a 5hp. and it would do ok as long as it stayed in the water got sick of that and put in the new diesel now it smoother quiter and a lot easier to shift and motors at 6+ knots
Liveability very easy to live on,just can't have an extensive wardrobe, very confortable v-berth and when i first moved aboard i stayed in starboard quarter berth for 6 months and it to was very confortable
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any n/a bought for 1,000.00 from dockmaster friend of mine who bought it for 500.00,he just lost intrest in it
Other comments have thought about another boat but relize that i'm very happy with the boats performance, curb appeal and handling not to methion the space on her more than my friends C&C 30,Ranged 29,mattetr of fact i think only the Catalina 30 is larger on the inside and you still can't tighten the stuffing box on them or see the engine or get to all the other systems as it is on my O'Day 27
