Owner bought the boat in 1994  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. Price, condition, and overall construction made it a value. The shoal draft and ease of raising the swing keel have made it even more attactive since I now sail it in a shallow lake. The keel design has also allowed me to design a flotation boat lift so it can be raised out of the water in the cold weather months.  
Gear that's been added Genoa. Knot and depth meters. VHF and cassette player with inside speakers.  
Structural or complex improvements  
The boat's best features Shoal draft. Interior layout.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The forward hatch has deteriorated requiring a re-bedding and the plastic latch brackets have broken, requiring a backing plate. I am experiencing some gelcoat crazing/cracking on the cockpit sole and seats. The forward cleats have loosened slightly and based on their location, I am not looking forward to the corrective action - I would be interested hearing of others' fun with this job! Also, my wiring is showing its age will require work soon. I have not had problems at the tiller/rudder connection as others have.  
Sailing characterisitcs Not a fast or high pointing boat but great for cruising and socializing.  
Motoring characterisitcs I have a 1984 Honda 7.5 HP four stroke that is reliable beyond belief. Also is quiet, fuel efficient, and idles/starts great. But, its weight requires a small block & tackle to raise.  
Liveability Very well designed for a couple or small family to cruise for short periods. We often have 8 or 9 people/kids out for several hours with plenty of room. We have often cooked dinner for six with a Magma grill.
