Review of the Oday 20 by Rick DeGregorio

Year built 1973
Location of boat Warwick Rhode Island
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Racing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? YES,Although I just bought this It seems to be very sea worthy.First day out was quite rough and I sailed right into it, had to see how it handels and if It was a dry boat, I was very impressed with Its performance out there. Sailing with the main and working jib I never felt over powered.Great little boat.
Gear that's been added No not yet , I do want a bigger heads sail 130 or 150. The working jib isn't going to cut it.
Structural or complex improvements The previous owner did. The mast was upgraded but used same boom, the chain plates were also beefed up. The metal tiller was replaced with a wood one (much better feel)Very SIM
The boat's best features vERY SIMPLE BOAT
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs I'm a white nuckle sailor, I love sailing in rough weather, this boat really impressd me
Motoring characterisitcs I have a Johnson 6 hp. It pushes the beautiflly.
Liveability I'm going to take off by myself this summer for a couple days and check it out.Two people would be fine, but the boats a little crowded with 4
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments It's a nice dry boat, and very simple to handel
