Owner bought the boat in 1999
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes I would, in a heart beat. I had done alot of research before buying my first cruiser. The O'Day 25 features always came to the fore front. In the years of research I had never seen one in real life, and it wasn't until I decided to make the move to a cruising boat that I saw one in real life and the true love began. Most of the ones I looked at were in great shape, I thinks because he owners just love their boats. I bought the second one I looked at, but I saw at least eight and anyone of them were good buys and well cared for.
Gear that's been added I have not added anything major as "Destiny" came very well equipted. I will be adding roller furling this spring and changing the lines to lead to the cockpit. Other than that all she will need will be a tiller pilot and that should be it.
Structural or complex improvements None but have been thinking about adding access doors on the vertical fiberglass under the salon cushions
The boat's best features The swing keel!, because I'm an in land sailor and have access to many lakes. The ROOM in the main cabin.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I have not experienced any problems with design.
Sailing characterisitcs "Destiny" has taken me around the coast of B.C. Canada to the coast of southern California,(I trailered her south)and the back to the Okanagan. We have had MANY memorable experiences weekend cruising and racing. Destiny helped be finish third overall in my fleet in 1999, and we finished First in 2000.
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability Destiny is a very comfortable boat weekend cruising or week cruising for one or two people MAX. But that's just me.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
