How the boat is used Racing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1999
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely
Gear that's been added Depth Finder, CDI Roller Furling
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Good Design and quality hardware. A large comfortable cockpit and wide companion way.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. A forward anchor locker and aft ran halyards would be handy additions.
Sailing characterisitcs I've raced this boat in our club events and she performs well against others her size. She is not a thoroughbred, but handles great under a wide range of wind conditions. I've comfortably sailed her solo with the rail in water with little effort.
Motoring characterisitcs I have a 4HP 2-cycle outboard. This is the minimum size I'd recommend. A 5-8HP is probably more the size for this boat.
Liveability I puchased this boat primarily for day sailing. The boat is a perfect size for two adaults and two small children.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments A very versatile boat, fun for racing and great for a family outing.
