Year built 1977
Location of boat Lake Berryessa, Calif.
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1984
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Very pleased with this boat. As others have mentioned, very safe, stable boat. Low cost operation. Good for teaching kids to sail.
Gear that's been added New outboard recently. Yamaha 8hp
Structural or complex improvements No not really. Mounted a latter on the port aft.
The boat's best features Swing keel, nice for access to lake beaches.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. It's been a solid boat.
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs Moves through the water quickly and pretty reponsive under motoring conditions.
Liveability We spent many weekends and a few extended weeks on the boat when the kids were small. It's really not large enough for the whole family.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
Other comments This boat is a very good beginners boat. Very forgiving. It serves many purposes, shelter from the sun, jetski platform, place to keep the beer cold and exciting lake sailing.
