Review of the Oday 192 by Andrew Lyon

Year built 1988
Location of boat Port St. Lucie, Fl.
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in Priv
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, it seems well constructed and it has very nice lines.
Gear that's been added I`ve led all the lines aft to the cockpit and I made a mast raising with a block and tackle and baby stays to ease mast raising and lowering.
Structural or complex improvements None were required, although the boat had a rough life with previous owners as the hull is badly scratched and dinged; it will need to be refinished. I also had to rebed all of the deck hardware as they all leaked, something to be exspected on a 12 year old boat.
The boat's best features It is light and easy to sail and setup. I sail frequently by myself and find the 192 forgiving, nimble with a good turn of speed.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs I have a 4hp Evinrude which is moves the boat adequately.
Liveability The cabin is very small but what can you exspect on an 18` sailboat, room for a port a potty. It advertises that it sleeps 4 but I wouldn`t want to, perhaps two adults and a child.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
