Review of the Oday 22 by seabeau bob

Year built 1983
Location of boat L.A.Harbor
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2003
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? This is a great boat. I got it cheap in poor condition and with a little work it is now in top condition
Gear that's been added I added new radio, depth finder, 6 hp outboard
Structural or complex improvements no structural improvements. However, I had to replace all of the wood trim.
The boat's best features Best looking small boat in 22 ft range. Sails nice.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. No major problems
Sailing characterisitcs Sails nice in 15-20 knt winds. I mostly sail in open ocean and have never had a problem. There are times in which I have had to take down the main and sail with the small jib.
Motoring characterisitcs Rocky at anchor, needs a flopper stopper.
Liveability to small to live aboard
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Purchased boat from private party
