If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, without a doubt!! A good looking boat, nice to handle, gives a big boat feel with the ease of small boat handling
Gear that's been added Roller furling, solar powered vent
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features A very dry boat for sailing in heavy weather, 20+knots of wind. A fast boat - I have done 7.6 knots! Yes really! 7.6knots, broad reaching. I think I may have even begun to plane. Nice creature comforts for overnighting. Side decks are wide enough to get past side stays easily. Women particularly like the head with the closing door for privacy. Pull out port berth is nice for larger men. Easy to come about quickly. Big foredeck for lounging on. Good head room in cabin. I am 5'7". Like being able to raise/lower centerboard for better sailing or gunkholing.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing so far.
Sailing characterisitcs This is a tender boat and will tip/heel easily in a gust. But she holds her course well when the board is down. She is fast downwind/ or broad reaching with the board up. Tiller is very tender and must be tended always or the boat will round up quickly which is a nice safety feature. 6knots in a 15 knot wind is easily met.
Motoring characterisitcs Very maneuverable. Responds quickly to turning maneuvers. We have a 9.9 which pushes it along nicely 6+ knots.
Liveability This boat is 60% weekender and 40% day sailor. With a main salon and a forward cabin, you start to get the feel of a coastal cruiser. Overnighting is great because there is plenty of sleeping and lounging room. The galley that stores provides more than adequate cooking capability. Forward vee berth is great for one adult or 2 kids. Starboard berth is 5'8", great for short person
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) [builder]
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any bought from a private party
Other comments This boat is trailerable, which is done easily and safely.
