Review of the Oday 20 by Al Hall

Year built 1973
Location of boat Saratoga Lake
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2000
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, this is a salty looking little boat. I loved our Pearson 26 but it was too much boat for our lake. This is the first boat I have owned that I could set the mast myself although I reccommend someone help you putting it down.
Gear that's been added I would like to add a boom vang and add a main sheet traveler.
Structural or complex improvements I upgraded the mast to Dywer's next larger profile my rigger feels that O'Day undersized this mast from the beginning.
The boat's best features I never feel the boat is overpowered. It points in the wind very easily and is vey responsive.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Wish the boat had a topping lift.
