The boat's best features stablity and balance of the boat under sail.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The boat is equipped with a roller furling jib, when reefed, the sail is difficult to trim correctly.
Sailing characterisitcs Points well to windward, is stable downwind
Motoring characterisitcs The boat is underpowered, the Universal model 18 diesel can produce just over 4 knots headway.
Liveability Coming from a trailerable boat, the O'Day 31 is super livable. We have spent many nights on the boat with out incident.
